CHRISTMAS CHEERS WITH APT22 - WHAT A GREAT EVENING!!!

Last Thursday, Kimberlie Stern from APT22 - one of the Calgary's boutiques - together with her girls hosted amazing shopping night!!! Just perfect idea for shopping before Christmas!!
For those who didn't have chance to be in the store yet - APT22 is very trendy boutique located in the heart of Calgary downtown carrying both amazing clothes from different labels (TART, Bella Lux, Karina Grimaldi, olive and olivia, Blank, Veronica M, Fate) and beautiful accessories & shoes.
During the evening guests enjoyed shopping while sipping some prosecco, tasting delicious appetizers - everything in the beats of great music by DJ. One of the night specials was lips touch ups provided by very talented Makeup Artist from NARS - Candice Fudge.
Congratulations to Kim and her team for having such a great evening!!!
Special "Thank You" words to my Friend and great photographer, Gary Evans from FullFrameFotography for taking all the pictures that night!!!Thanks to him - You can see what you've missed!!!

T'WAS THE NIGHT - GREAT SHOPPING EVENT AT THE CORE, CALGARY!!!

What an evening...!!!!! I heard this statement many times right after the actual event - "T'was The Night" - the biggest, private, after-hours shopping benefit that
Calgary has ever seen!!!
On the evening of November 30th, 2011, the Core (TD Square/Holt Renfrew) attracted over 7.500 people to celebrate the kick-off to the holiday season, the multi-million dollar renovation of the Core and support two non-profit organizations who are changing the landscape of urban Calgary - the United Way's "BeCause"initiative and
the National Music Centre Project.
Just that night approx. $40.000 was raised to support these two local charities!!

During the evening, Calgarians not only had a chance to do actual Christmas shopping but also could walk on the red carpet and take photo with international blogger & eTalk host - Lainey Lui (www.laineygossip.com); admire the Core's spectacular new 45-foot Christmas Tree (the tallest of its kind in Western Canada); but one of the most exciting part was for sure a special holiday performance by Juno Award Winning artist - Chantal Kreviazuk, and other performances around the shopping centre - including the Calgary Girls Choir!!!
Looking forward to see more of those kind of events in Calgary!!!

SCAN TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE YYC CAMPAIGN with Edges Salon&Spa

Calgary's Edges Salon&Spa

is using an innovative technology to spread the message of hope and raise funds for children in need this holiday season. Edges Salon, Redken Canada, and Calgary’s leading Mobile & Social Media Agencies, Hollow Earth Media and ENGAGEIA, have put together a unique QR Code campaign (Quick Response) with the QR code shaved onto the back of heads and on t-shirts worn by a brigade of “hope” agents – local high school and college students –

all in support of

ONEXONE’s, “Help Feed A Child” fund.

QR Codes are specific two-dimensional codes that are readable by dedicated QR barcode readers. They bridge online information accessed from the offline world through the use of smartphones.“Edges is the first salon to use the QR technology shaved onto heads and working with Hollow Earth Media and ENGAGEIA we have raised the bar for creative fund raising campaigns this holiday season,” says

Lina Chammoury, Director of Marketing at Edges Salon & Spa.

“The QR technology is immediate, so people can give and go, and their donations are instantly recognized allowing the money to be collected and distributed nearly instantly. We want to raise as much money as we can to support ONEXONE’s fight against child poverty and hunger.”For three years Edges Salon has been a major fundraiser for ONEXONE with their annual cut-a-thon raising more than $25,000.

How it works:

When the QR haircut has been scanned, audiences will be prompted to make a $5 donation by text message or credit card. In return for their support, participants will receive free REDKEN products, exclusive mobile coupons at Edges Salon & Spa locations and be entered into a mobile contest with further Edges Salon Gifts. To show support & donate: ensure mobile device is equipped with a QR code scanner. To download a QR scanner, text the word ‘SCAN’ to the 5-digit number 70734. “This past year ushered in a host of changes in the world of marketing, effective brand promotion, and nurturing customer relationships. When envisioning this campaign, we knew we had to bring on a team that both understood the recent shift in consumer behavior and how to optimize the campaign based on that”, says

Jaime Iredale, CEO & Co-Founder of Hollow Earth Media. Hollow Earth will be managing the mobile components of the campaign & ENGAGEIA the strategic online positioning.“The ‘Scan To Make A Difference’ initiative may very well be the head-tuner needed to grasp people’s attention to inform them of what a great cause this is, and provide an innovative way to show their support” says

Kent Speakman, President of Engageia & one of iMedia’s Top 10 Digital Marketers of 2011.
